about
This song emerged unexpectedly on winter solstice of 2020. It was a very quiet, dark day and the energy of this song took me by surprise.
It is about the return of the light, new beginnings and the sun's rays touching the land at dawn. Of course, thinking about it, the darkest day of the year is precisely when the first ray of light begins to reappear!
It is a song celebrating the sun's light as a form of consecration of, and union with, the land.
lyrics
ORILLA DEL AMANECER
Llega la orilla de la luz
Ola dorada del amanecer
Pinta todo en sus colores
Consagrando todo el territorio
Pinta todo el territorio
Consagrando todo en sus colores
Huey yana hey mi Tonantzin
Huey yana hey mi Guadalupe
Huey yana hey mi Tonantzin
Huey yana hey mi Pachamama
Huey yana hey mi Guadalupe
Huey yana hey mi Tonantzin
Huey yana hey mi madre tierra
Con el amor del padre sol
Ilumina las cuatro direcciones
Tzen ze re re re re re re
Siete flechas en el centro
Huey ey yana hey mi Tonantzin…
El cielo llena de azul
Aire puro y fresco
Un gran coro de pajaros
Y debajo la serpiente del río
Huey yana hey mi Tonantzin…
Yana hey yana yo
Yana heyana hey ney oh huey
English Translation:
EDGE OF THE DAWN
Here comes the edge of the light
Golden wave of the dawn
Painting everything in its colours
Consecrating this territory
Painting this territory
Consecrating everything with its colours
Huey yana hey my Tonantzin
Huey yana hey my Guadalupe
Huey yana hey my Tonantzin
Huey yana hey my Pachamama
Huey yana hey my Guadalupe
Huey yana hey my Tonantzin
Huey yana hey my mother earth
With the love of father sun
Illuminating the four directions
Tzen ze re re re re re re
Seven arrows in the centre
Huey yana hey my Tonantzin…
The sky fills with blue
Air pure and fresh
A great chorus of birds
And the snake of the river below
Huey yana hey my Tonantzin…
Yana hey yana yo
Yana heyana hey ney oh huey

I heard a few of the songs from this album at a sacred sound healing retreat. My favourite tracks are Que Florezca La Luz and Nuestro Mundo. Absolutely stunning music I never get tired of listening. Dj Rise
